General staff job description

General Staff

 

Under the supervision of the General Manager and Shift Supervisors. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex.

 

  • Participate in keeping all areas of the facility neat and clean at all times. These duties include sweeping and mopping the rink restrooms, locker rooms, shower areas, lobby, meeting rooms, bleachers and removing trash, changing lights, cleaning rink glass, etc.

  • Offer excellent customer service to all guests. Greet customers with a smile and respond to any questions or needs they have in a kind manner.

  • Handle all phone calls in a kind, professional manner.

  • Sell rink related items in the pro shop and concessions.

  • Process and handle cash correctly

  • Operate scoreboard when assigned. (training will be provided)

  • Assist shift supervisors with closing and opening of the facility.

  • Be available to work all times of the day, weekends, and some holiday’s

  • Must be 15 years or older to apply

 

Skills required:

 

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.

  • Take direction from shift supervisors and complete all tasks assigned during your shift.

  • Ability to recognize problems as they arise and alert the shift supervisor to these problems.

  • Be able to assume positive and active role while working under stressful conditions.

  • Must be willing to be firm with customers when necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all customers of the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex.

  • Interact well with others.

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects such as hockey nets and other equipment.

 

Shift Supervisor job description

Shift Supervisor

 

Under the supervision of the General Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and leading the daily functions of general staff employees during their shift. Reporting problems that may occur to the General Manager. Along with maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex.

 

  • Assign daily cleaning tasks, oversee these tasks as they are being performed.

  • Participate in keeping all areas of the facility neat and clean at all times. These duties include sweeping and mopping the rink restrooms, locker rooms, shower areas, lobby, meeting rooms, bleachers and removing trash, changing lights, cleaning rink glass, etc.

  • Offer excellent customer service to all guests. Greet customers with a smile and respond to any questions or needs they have in a kind manner.

  • Handle all phone calls in a kind, professional manner.

  • Sell rink related items in the pro shop and concessions.

  • Process and handle cash correctly.

  • Operate scoreboard when assigned. (training will be provided)

  • Preform closing duties on registers at the end of the day.

  • Be available to work all times of the day, weekends, and some holiday’s

  • Must 18 years or older to apply
