About the League

The Hagerstown Summer Recreational Hockey League games are NON-CHECK and are played on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday (depending on number of teams and ice availability) on a rotational basis (see Scheduling note below). Two referees are scheduled. The League is co-ed and players must be 18 or over.

The league will consist of skaters and goalies that are ranked B & C (BB players may be considered depending on the number of players registered) and are distributed as evenly as possible throughout the League.

The season will consist of 10 weeks of play, plus the end of season tournament.  Teams will be drafted by the team captains (please see the attached by-laws for a complete breakdown of league procedures and rules).

Teams will consist of a maximum of 14 skaters and a goaltender with the minimum number of rostered players to be determined by the league management.

Summer League starts May 16th or 17th

Goals of the League

The goal of the Rec League is to provide fun hockey for B and C level players.  We aren't playing for "Stanley," there are no contracts on the line, and we all go back to our real jobs in the morning.  The emphasis of this league is on enjoyment of the sport and the camaraderie of your teammates.

If this seems like something that interests you, please use the contact link at the top of the page.  We can assist you with registration and getting started in the league.
