Figure skaters hold special event for charity

The Hagerstown Edge Skating Academy (HESA) will hold a special set of events on May 1, as part of Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex's participation in the Washington County Gives annual charity event.  Funds earned during this event will be used to support youth skating programs at the rink, which is run by a non-profit organization.

The talented individuals will take the ice from 4-6 PM on this date.  The performances will take place from approximately 4:00 to 5:30.  The figure skaters will then welcome others new to the sport onto the ice.  New skaters will learn a couple simple skating moves and have a chance to play games.

The Learn to Skate program, geared towards beginners, will have fun prizes and giveaways.  A gift basket will also be auctioned off- see a sneak peek below of some fun items for budding ice performers!  A donation to the fundraiser is suggested for youth participating in the on-ice activities or watching the skaters perform.

We hope you can come out and participate in this event!  If you have questions about participating, contact our Skate Director Lorraine Olson for further info.
