Hagerstown is fortunate to have enough talented players to field two Hagerstown Hammerheads U-10 teams. Last week, we caught up with the White team. Not to be outdone, the Aqua squad is also piecing together an impressive season.
The Aqua team has 13 kids who haven’t had the benefit of playing together before, but these boys and girls have quickly developed new friendships and camaraderie due to their love for this sport. While a few of these players have a fair bit of experience under their belts despite their young ages, a full quarter of the team this is their first ever season in league play. This has helped the team members become closer friends, as several of the more experienced players have helped to mentor newer teammates on the finer points of hockey.
With a number of regular season games still ahead of them, Aqua U10 has been a solid presence in the overall league standings. Through their first 8 games, the team has posted 61 goals for (GF) and just 30 goals allowed (GA), but even more importantly have been sharpening their skills and scoring many new friendships along the way.
