Worst to First? We've Got This!

Last year, the Hagerstown Mayhem women's adult hockey team surprised local fans by their incredible playoff performance.  All signs pointed to an early playoff exit after the team finished in last place during last year's regular season.  However, the Mayhem stunned their opponents as they took home the title.

The ladies found themselves in a similar position this season.  With their division rivals now more aware of their prowess, they again finished in last place as the regular season ended.  But this team knew it was capable of doing more- and they did.

The Mayhem won lower tier title by beating teams from Frederick and the Chesapeake Bay region.  In the first game against Frederick, the Mayheam defeated the Firestorm was 5-4.   In the championship game against the Chesapeake Bay Lightning, the Mayhem again prevailed in a tight contest, 6-5.  Danielle Dill had a hat trick in championship game and received the award for the most points in the lower tier D division.  Goalie Courtney Forsyth was recognized as the team MVP for the season.

Congrats, ladies!  Great work in your comeback championships the past two years!
