Team plays double-header in NJ

The Hagerstown Kodiaks traveled to Pennsauken, New Jersey last week to play against two teams.  The Kodiaks compete in the B Level Division of the North East Sled Hockey League (NESHL).

The Kodiaks faced the Bennet Blazers in the first game.  They lost 4-0, but played well overall on defense.   After the game, the team desired more offensive opportunities, but was very happy with its defensive performance.

They didn't have much of a chance to relax after the game.  They faced off against their next opponent immediately following the first game.  The New Jersey Wings of Steel won this contest 6-2.  The Kodiaks were led on offense by Robert Linton.  The centerman scored two goals in the first period.

While the Kodiaks didn't pick up a win, they recognized several aspects of their game that have improved.   "Our team practices help us to improve our overall play, and we played well against two very fast teams,"  said Captain Mike Barnhart.  "Our goalie Rich Wilson made some great stops and deflections, and we are playing much better as a team."
