Learn to Play Hockey is designed to teach and strengthen basic skating and hockey skills. The classes prepare players for in-house or travel league play. Qualified instructors guarantee adequate attention to all players because of small teacher to student ratios. Age range 4 to 12.
All skaters need to have basic skating ability and are required to take and pass the Basic Hockey Skills course to obtain proper edge and skating technique before signing up for Learn to Play. Those who wish to test out should contact hockeydirector@hagerstownice.org

Players must be fully outfitted in hockey equipment and will be supplied with a Learn to Play jersey which must be worn each week for entrance onto the ice surface. This jersey will be returned to the HISC program upon completion of each session. Age range 4 to 12. Recreational and travel hockey players may not sign up for this program.
Requirements: Full hockey gear is required. Equipment provided on a first come, first serve basis. Jersey and equipment must be returned at the end of each session. An $80.00 deposit is required. Jersey provided and must be worn to each session.
Registration with
USA Hockey is also required. Players 6 and under are free. Players 7 and older cost $45 per year. This fee is not part of the session fees.
